My name is Heather
I am a young adult living in a suburb of Orlando, Fla.
I make words look good in magazines for a living

And anything elephant-related
Every time I pop into the kitchen in my office and a co-worker walks in, they strike up an awkward, meaningless conversation. “How is your day going?” “It’s starting to get chilly outside!” “Did you hear about such-and-such snafu on the last print day?”
Our office is divided into departments, and I rarely interact with people from marketing or customer service. Am I wrong to dread these conversations? Am I antisocial because I’d much prefer to put nutella on my cinnamon swirl bagel in silence rather than awkwardly chatting with you just because we can?
We don’t HAVE to talk every time we see each other, right?
Or am I just THAT woman?
